Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the equipment sanitized?

A: Yes, prior to each new rental, all equipment is cleaned and sanitized. The equipment is also inspected for safety before each rental. We treat the equipment as if our own children were using it.

Q: How long have you been in business?

A: Baby’s Away has been in business since 1991. We started our service in Breckenridge Colorado and have been expanding to other ski areas, beach locations, resorts and metro cities throughout the US.

Q: Will you install car seats?

A: We cannot do this for liability reasons. We leave this up to the customer. We are more than happy to provide the instruction booklet for you, should you need it. Most customers find that our car seats are easy to install.

Q: Is the equipment new?

A: All of our equipment is either new or in excellent condition (gently used). We pride ourselves on the quality and cleanliness of our merchandise. Each item is thoroughly inspected before each rental.

Q: What if I need to cancel?

A: We understand that plans change and if you need to cancel please provide as much notice as possible. Depending on the location and the time of year you are renting the equipment, the cancellation policies vary with each location. That being said, we do understand that emergencies happen and we will work with you to the best of our ability.

Q: The hotel has a crib for me, what should I ask?

A: Make ABSOLUTELY sure that it is a FULL SIZE crib. A LOT of hotels tell you that it is a crib, but it really is a portacrib (used for children under 6 mos) or a pack-n-play. Ask if it is wood or metal, the metal ones are generally not the most pleasant cribs. Ask if the mattress is a full thickness (5 inch) not the thinner one (3 inches). Most hotels use the thin mattresses and they just are not very comfortable. Also be aware of hotels using ADULT-SIZED sheets for the cribs. This is extremely unsafe, and should be avoided as it poses a strangulation hazard for babies. If they do not offer crib sheets, it is unsafe to use that crib!
